I'M Still Growing
I was a goofy kid
Did goofy things
Fell off swings
But I grew
Broke my arm twice
Knee cap cracked
Leg was jacked
But I grew
Sped my bike down a hill
Smacked a parked car
Wings spread out, I flew far
But I grew
Fell off a bumper
Landed on my chin
My face had a second grin
But I grew
Fell in love with Godzilla
Pretended to be a princess
She surely wasn’t a genius
But I grew
Almost married, late twenties
I didn’t say yes, she walked away
Big regret, my life turned gray
But I grew
Jabbed my eye with a cardboard
Couldn’t see, gave me a scare
Kept it a secret, used my spare
But I grew
Slept on a table
Didn’t know
Popped my elbow
But I grew
Picked up lunch
Almost lost
I cut everyone off
But I grew
In my forties, looking back
I’m lucky I’m still alive
Now I enjoy a morning sunrise
I’m still growing
