I Wish I Had
"I wish I had" Contest.
I wish I had a twenty.
for each homeless on the street.
Enough cash bills to place in hungry-
hands that I may meet.
I wish I had a fifty
for each “love you” I have spoken.
Back then my hopes yet unfulfilled.
Again, my poor heart broken.
I wish I had a hundred
for pains of those I savored.
The money gift to help someone,
who soon forgot the favor.
I wish I had a thousand for each
intercession made,
so troubled ones would now be blessed
because the faithful prayed.
I wish not for a million.
This large payment, I’ve received.
Such quantity is worthless,
unless you see one's need.
