I Want To Shine-Down-At-The-Sun

I want to shine down at the sun Wrest a love from illusions that stalk, to give life I want to curl a toe and be heard Defy sprawling deserts, Convey their infertility to silent victims And dictate a momentous imperative of survival I seek the blood-redemption of the wretched I seek the words to say at the conclusion of nothing The cross to carry when it bears another in its image My soul seeks another… quite like it And the words to say when it matters least what to say I wish to tell the present it owes me a future To steer the world away from between unwilling thighs And defy their quiet endurance I want to make love to you… and never touch you I want to twist my frozen being to a standstill Negotiate the meaning of a word unsaid Love with an unconscious spirit And nestle faithfully between divinity and promise I also want to sing I want to relive the words pulsating in clenched fists And the moments that haunt like the silky outrage of a wanton kiss Days that tantalized reason with an infinite wish, I want to live I want to measure time at the tragic end of all Pick the shining grain in the sand and rename it a blood diamond I want to do it all I tell you, I want to shine-down-at-the-sun
