I Have Seen

I Have Seen As I look back upon my life I never must forget For more than thirty thousand days I’ve seen the skies ablaze at sunset. What a miracle, I thought As I hummed a little tune Because for just as many nights I’ve gazed in wonder at the moon. I’ve witnessed brilliant streaks of lightning Watched a million flowers bloom I’ve seen the faces of my loved ones And how their smiles light up a room. I’ve been awed by mountains’ majesties Watched the roll of ocean waves Been enchanted by fresh snowfall Seen tears flow by many graves. I’ve watched my children’s children grow Then start families of their own I’ve seen the fruits of my hard labor Emerge from seeds that I have sown. I’ve seen birds soar among the clouds Marveled creatures of the sea So much beauty in this world That God has shared with me. For my Daddy Julie Conerly Votolato 10/02/11
