I Have Questions
'We can talk,' said the Tiger-lily: 'when there's anybody worth talking to.'
~Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll
Am I worthy enough to talk to you?
I asked the tiger lily,
but it just bobbed its pretty head
talking to the wind instead.
They whispered secrets, I am sure,
about the sun and moon;
perhaps about the turquoise sky
or perhaps about the starry night.
If I want to ask my questions about love
I suppose I will have to ask the daisies,
but do they have the answers that I seek~
maybe, maybe not.
