I Get It, Tina
On the surface, Tina, I disagree.
Without limbs, is it really a tree?
With electric lines, it's a light pole.
Without such power, it's a pole in a hole.
Without love, where's the relationship?
Without fuel or energy, there is no trip.
Furthermore, Tina, our religions are worlds apart.
At first, understanding one of your greatest hits was hard.
But on the other hand, Tina, I really get it.
Happiness requires more than great record hits.
They say that you must dance 'with the one what brought you'.
But sometimes, that 'one what brought you' doesn't have a clue.
Tina, I must confess that I am not a fan of your kind of music,
but I can't deny that there was one huge hit that grabbed me.
Without a doubt, 'What's love got to do with it' was bold.
Hearing that song made me a fan of yours and your story.
In my heart, Tina, I know that love has everything to do with it.
In my heart, Tina, I know that love is more than a second-hand emotion.
But I get it, Tina, sometimes success equals two, minus one, equals me alone.
And it scares me to be that way, but the other way is continually killing me.
Yes, Tina, I get it; honest, I do. And millions more like me get it, Tina.
'We get it' because you inspired us to be free. Yes, Tina, you inspired
us to be liberated from abuse, and from being controlled by others
who are themselves also enslaved. Goodbye, Tina. We will miss you.
