Hush Flush At Sunset
Listen to poem:
As the day ends, the sun bids its last adieu.
Spreading paint across the sky with ruddy hue.
An emblazon show of crimson, fierce and bright,
Melds into orange-yellow, a warm delight.
Then the hues fade to a pink and purple blend,
As the day's final performance nears its end.
The sky echoes reflection on lake and sea,
Sky as conductor, makes retrospection plea,
That hushes you and me, the birds, lands, wildlife.
To calm the mood, hush all the turmoil and strife.
To prepare the world for sleep and renewal,
To revive the spirit, recharge, refuel.
