Another example for the physics laws contest
Listen to poem:
Newton's Laws of Motion First Law (Inertia): An object at rest stays at rest, and an object in motion stays in motion unless acted upon by an external force. Third Law: For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. I have no faith that I'm gravitationally bound so I will myself stock still until I can bear it no longer static builds until every atom is itching for movement the world presented to me becomes frictionless within it I'm realised amazed my feet print the ground my fingers trace the textures of the alternate space I interact, am rewarded - my God I can breathe! I dare not pause to doubt my existence there will be time enough when still again the forces that push me so effortlessly now will be a weight that sits predictably on my shoulders I'll consider it then even in a simulation, laws apply with a consequence to thinking and doing being - only happening in bursts when the controlled environment experiences flux I know the trade winds that set me free will also slam shut the door I'm wish to forget how the stamps on my hand that let me pass now crush my bones there is no force left within me to push back I cannot take shape in a vacuum I bleat what seems sense yet it just echoes back gets silenced in the spaces between my heart beats the soundless pockets will blow out my eardrums unless i reset how it feels to stay put
being contained is neither equal or opposite to inexistence
the breeze ceases to ask or answer and trusts wholly in the fact: laws are meant to be obeyed

Dear dd, i just listened to your spoken word while reading this and i must say again, your voice is so organic and definitely you sound like one of those asmr spoken words, so soothing, and there are so many powerful phrases in this and your way with expressing and interpreting the laws is so very soul stirring! I really love the lines "the soundless pockets will blow out my eardrums unless i reset how it feels to stay put" that really did stand out for me and hit deep! And i absolutely love the last few lines! Just impeccable! A new fave for me! I think no one can write as good as this for your contest! Hah! Sending you light today and always

There are some beauties in my short list so far but hoped to incite a few more quality entries before it closes. I do love tipping into fave territory, thank you :) I lack the scientific knowledge to stay fully on topic but luckily my contest allows for that haha. Silence blowing out eardrums felt visceral as I was writing and feeling the vibe - thank you for picking out that line x

Perhaps consciousness acts outside Newton’s laws of motion, because your poetry certainly does Dilly, a beautiful piece here just going with the flow, aware yet detached simultaneously, the narration gives an ethereal feel to the whole experience, reminds me of that great Queen lyric (any way the wind blows) an exquisite piece, cheers David

I believe you achieved exactly what you set out to do, the toing and froing is palpable, but not overwhelmingly dense in scientific syntax , you may well have brought Newton’s laws and humanity together in a new equation :)

Look who's back :D thank you for spending a bit of time with this one. It does dance between laws and dreamscape. I found it interesting to check whether some expressions fell close enough to science fact but then sped off on another merry way pretty quickly. I'll happily accept 'exquisite' thank you :)
