Hope Valley

Naive to the hardships of life She had never known struggle or strife So her journey to teach far away Would take courage if she was to stay For the women of Coal Valley town had lost husband's and son's below ground And to them she was just a princess With a wealthy upbringing no less But in time she proved she could be strong Even constable Thornton was wrong Now her life there has slowly begun And the heart of the mountie she won Then after the deaths in the mine Fair justice prevailed over time And the Coal Valley mine was closed down But it took with it work from the town Then a stranger turned up with a plan That would bring back new jobs to the land Now the Coal Valley name is long gone But Hope Valley has grown and lives on Poem about my favorite tv series "When calls the heart"

What an uplifting, inspiring write, Anne! 'Hope' is a real great counter to the 'Carols' of 'Main Street' (by Sinclair Lewis, 100 years ago already). Kudos, Gershon

You are a good story teller. Are you from Canada too? I live in Kelowna BC but am originally from Kirkland Lake Ontario. A Gold mining town.
