Hope
I saw hope today
She was a read-head
Slender and tall with a smile
That shone bright on a moonless night
I saw hope in motion
As she walked by
She seemed to be beckoning
Gesturing, asking me to join her
In the walk of hope
Her hand felt supple and soft
Reassuring me, firmly clutching mine
Making me feel like I could achieve anything
Clutching onto the coat-tails of hope
Never letting go
Her perfume being the first smell of success
My soul resting
Comfortably ensconced in the bosom of hope
Suckling on the milk of human kindness
I saw hope today
