O Holy Spirit, Comforter divine, In every moment, be thou ever mine, When darkness looms and fears assail, Let thy sweet presence never fail. When sorrow comes and tears do flow, And all my strength doth ebb and go, Be thou my light, my rock, my stay, To guide me safely on my way. In times of trouble and distress, When anxious thoughts my soul oppress, Come to my aid with gentle grace, And lift me up to see thy face. When doubts and fears and sins abound, And guilt and shame weigh heavy down, Pour forth thy mercy, grace, and love, And lead me to thy throne above. In moments of temptation strong, When evil thoughts would lead me wrong, Strengthen my will, renew my heart, And let thy truth and peace impart. In life's last moments, when I die, And face the judgment of the Most High, Be thou my guide, my hope, my plea, And lead me to eternity.
