Her Slave

Those eyes, those beckoning eyes; I can feel their gleam upon me There’s no escape from those eyes As in the darkness they always see A spell, yes tis a spell I know But I know of no remedy to break it I’m haunted nightly as always Is there a curse upon me at wit? A voice, yes I hear the voice And oh yes, those eyes still stare No need to hide, no need to flee Because those eyes remain there The maidens love was all she had But I, yes I wanted more And in the end I tossed her out And banned her from my door A nightly vigil she does keep And sleep no longer finds me My tempers hot, my life is nil But my legs can no longer flee No pleasures in my life again I see only eyes that keep staring Soon I know that death will appear As I and those eyes will be pairing I cast my pearls upon the swine And reaped a harvest fitting Those eyes don’t lie, they just sigh As my death suit they’re knitting Six carry me across the snowy ground All dead and ready for the grave She won at last my breaking heart As now I’m her forever slave
