Hat Trick
With far too much to do,
and having little time,
he tapped his hat with an ink pen,
and conjured up a rhyme.
He’d hoped it would be long;
alas, he came up short.
The rest hopped out and got away,
or so they did report.
A pencil would have been
much better for that verse,
for he could threaten to erase
if they tried to disperse.
