Graft and Corruption

A whispered deal in shadows deep and vast, where hands exchange and loyalties don't last. The paper trails that vanish in the night, a phantom ledger where darkness hides the light. The gilded cage where power holds its sway, and public trust is bartered day by day. The empty coffers where promises decay, a nation's wealth that slips and fades away. The blindfold justice with a weighted, tilted scale, where truth is silenced and the innocent fail. The hollow words of leaders grand and bold, a practiced script where stories are untold. The silent victims with their burdened weary sighs, a generation's future where opportunity dies. The festering wound that spreads across the land, a poisoned legacy held in a grasping hand. The hollow echo of a broken fading dream, a nation's spirit lost in a corrupting stream. A desperate plea for hands that will be clean, to break the chains of what has always been. To plant the seeds of honesty and grace, and find redemption in this desolate place. To build a future where integrity will rise, and wash away the stain that darkens all our skies. ©bfa032725
