Grace and Solitude
It would be easy to lose our heads and panic
What would we gain to act the fool or manic
Pent up energy not spent on anxiety and stressing
Is better focused on appreciating our every blessing
All around us there’s pandemonium and fear
Adamantly I drown out the noise I refuse to hear
All those negative vibes just cast a dark heavy shadow
And it blocks the sunshine coming in through my window
In times of chaos it’s best to strive for serenity
Keep our wits about us and not lose our identity
I lock my doors and stay safe and alive inside
By self-isolation rules I wholeheartedly abide
My focal point is inward on what’s positive
Wanting to use well my time and not be passive
I nurture treasured hopes, dreams and ambitions
With renewed gust driven free of idle assumptions
I breathe calmly and gather strength through serenity
Mindfully I focus on today as no man can control infinity
I can’t think just now of the pandemic magnitude
I choose to adopt an attitude of grace and solitude
