Gookooko'Oo -Go-Ku-Ku-Ooh
The story of the Gokooko'oo
Tells of an Ojibwe animal spirit
Many within the tribe
Have been brought up to fear it.
Gookooko'oo is an animal spirit,
The spirit of the great owl
They move in pure silence
When they are on the prowl
They are known for their wisdom,
And the omens that they bring
The omens that offer us
A spiritual forewarning
Gookooko'oo has had
To learn to survive
Where others may struggle
The owl can and will thrive
Gookooko'oo lives in the dark
But there's really nothing to fear
For when you need protection
Gookooko'oo is always near
