God’s ode to earth
Look at you, blank canvas
I say that there be light.
Now I can see your emptiness,
Let me put you right.
Here’s some sees and Sky.
Now I paint your land, O earth.
I have hung you high
And gifted you water and dirt.
I’ve tied you to the sun
And sent the stars to sing.
Yet, I am not done
You are still missing some things.
Hear the birds glide in the air,
Feel The fish swim in your waters,
Care for The people; I declare
Watch my sons and daughters.
You are now complete.
Dressed and rivers and moss,
You’re my best masterpiece,
Now watch for the wooden cross.
