Get a Dog
Her entire life Harriet felt unloved
Her parents tried, but they were stiff
Nothing warm or fuzzy about them
And that is difficult to fake
Harriet had some stuffed animals
They were okay to love, but gave little warmth back
Feeling loved is what she sought her entire life
until she got a furry pet.
Her furry pet in the form of a cat brought her unconditional love.
Something she had wanted for over twenty years.
If you think a cat is loving, get a dog, a co-worker said.
So she got a dog.
A dog who loved her like a mama
Who sat in her lap
Who gave her puppy eyes
Who adored her.
She had never felt so loved….
