From Pit To Prime Minister
Joseph was sold from a pit by his brothers
To heathen traders of merchandise and spices;
Whilst traveling from Jordan to Egypt—
For Joseph a terrifying crisis.
When they reached Egypt,
He was sold to Potifer as a slave;
Soon appointed over the household,
Because of how Godly he behaved.
Potifer’s wife became his temptress;
such revenge for being shunned.
Joseph was cast into jail
For to lust he’d not succumbed.
He still trusted His God
And did not complain.
God had other plans for him;
In jail he did not remain.
Called from jail by the Pharaoh
To interpret his strange dream;
Rather like Daniel,
By the king he was esteemed.
A beam of Godly wisdom
That saved a nation from ruin;
Seven years of plenty,
Followed by seven years of famine.
Egypt had plenty in the storehouse,
Due to Joseph’s Godly wisdom.
His role of Prime Minister,
Pharaoh gladly did welcome.
From pit to Prime Minister,
Joseph was a savior to Egypt.
Saved from the pit and slavery—
By God himself equipped.
