Friends Are Like Trees
Some are like leaves
They support you for a short while
They change with the seasons
Then with the slightest bit of wind
They are carried away
Some are like twigs
They are an essential part of the tree
But they can be broken off with little effort
And usually becomes birds’ nests
Or children’s play things
Some are like branches/limbs
They are necessary to maintain your balance
Occasionally you can go out on them
And at other times they way you down
But with strong winds, they are easily moved
Then there are those who are like roots
They keep you firm and grounded
In whatever soil you are planted
They are your life’s source
They rejuvenate and refresh you
Aspire to find and keep your root friends
Your life will be so much more fulfilling with them in it.
