Foolish Scarred Heart
Love and a thousand tears of torment and sweetness,
oh, the flowing waves of emotions, happiness, and yearning;
valleys of emerald green, streams of azure blue cannot compare,
even the most beautiful sunset does not stir me, as does my love;
nor a full moon above with a million stars twinkling in the night.
For he has me within his snare and I am helpless with infatuation,
I can see no flaws, I am deaf to his lies, his kisses erase all worry;
his smooth words capture my heart and soul with fake romance,
then, in time his true intentions and personality cannot be denied;
and I turn away with a foolish scarred heart from this man I loved.
