Fine Tree Soldiers of Winter
Aromatic coniferous forest housing fine tree soldiers
Gorgeous scents and fragrances of pines and firs are calling
Balsam fir, Colorado spruce, Northern white pine
Each lovely in their own unique ways
Spiral needles on their shoots, remind me of Christmas
Their massive arms make way for baby pinecones
These giants inspire hope and Christmas confidence
Reverence for God’s masterpieces as I decide on one.
Douglas fir and Pacific Silver fir are both fine soldiers
Standing tall, loving their lives, enjoying their daily views
I would feel guilty bringing one home if I had cut them down
But they are already cut, so I choose my tree with delight.
