Fat Tuesday On Bourbon Street
Masked trickery within bayou nights
Under the diffusing Dixie lanterns glow
Flowing songs lost within legend and myth
Dancing with a quipster and pierrot
Lovers and friends hidden in masquerade
In sequined illusions and beaded dancing
These candid moments fading into night
Mirroring the revelry of years long past
Bal masque shadows fill the masquerade
Veiled in the fables of uninhibited fantasy
On champagne sidewalks to dance the night
Adorned and costumed in flashes of gold
Legends ruminating in harlequin mists
Those disguised in the colors of fantasy
Every corner filled visions of Mardi Gras
Dancing as jazz bands parade Bourbon Street
Fat Tuesday erupts in New Orleans again.
