Falling Up
“Let’s go shopping!”
“Ok, let’s go,”
You say to me, my love.
We hop into the car,
Letting it ship us to my fate,
Such a fate to smile.
Here we are,
We’re getting out,
Going into the mall.
Want to go up,
Up the escalator.
We’ve got to get there fast.
We start to run,
Up the stairs,
Running for our lives.
I find myself falling though,
Thinking back, I tripped,
I tripped over your foot.
So, mid-way,
I found myself,
Being pulled up by an escalator.
In no way,
Should I be lying,
Upon the stairs in a mall.
As I go up,
I watch you smiling,
Laughing as hard as you can.
My face drips blood,
But I find the humor,
In my stupidity,
Of falling up the stairs.
