Exile
Silently, it sat
The figure of a young child
In tears, it sat
Frozen in time
For time was never an escape
I waved, I smiled
And he bellowed out
Pure fear that would forever taint me
A monster
Horror within his vision
I, a snake
It shook me to my deepest hiding places
Places so deep, it shattered my being
I ran, horrified
The dead eyes of the child catching me
As I closed my eyes, terrified
Falling
Then silence prevailed
And my eyes opened
All dead around me, but a man
Waving at me
Smiling
