Enough Is Enough
There’s got to be a point
Where enough is enough
You’d think a girl
Who grew up so young
Seen things
Felt things
No little girl
Should ever experience
A life without a mother’s love
A father’s acceptance
A love that was forcefully taken
A husband without the will
To fight for what was left
Cursed with a body
That just falls apart
Pain is nothing new
If you remove parts of her
Does that mean
That she’s still a woman?
There’s got to be a point
Where enough is enough
A heart can only break
So many times right?
In so many pieces
To the point of no return
To wholeness
If you take and take
Till there’s nothing left
Does that mean there’s relief?
Will you be the one
That takes what little is left
From hands held out
Will this be the one thing
That makes a shattered heart
Turn to ashes
To blow away
In the slightest of breezes
Then and only then
Will enough be enough.
