Earth
Earth.
When winter tires of being cold
Of icy fingers and chattering teeth
And spring can no longer sprout,
Green shoots and buds of promise
Summer will intervene with balmy-
Days, and red sunsets on flat horizons
Until autumn browns leaves, lays
Branches naked, makes muddy trails.
Mankind will look back in shame.
No longer needed, a parasite vanquished.
Bloody hands drip with the last drop
Through eyes seeing nothing but profit, seeking,
Nothing but short-term gain and
Wreaking nothing, but vengeance and empire.
Killing innocence and promoting self.
whose only aim was to gratify number one.
After all is past, the earth will repair,
Regenerate, to its true magnificence.
Live in peace and harmony, content.
Nothing to gain, and nothing to lose.
If man receives a reprieve, second chance,
The essential lessons must be learnt.
Because humanity needs its earth, but
the earth is paradise without humanity.
