Eagle Feather Carried By the Wind

The northern wind catches me and takes me upriver I repose for a bit next to teensy startled minnows She returns for me and flicks me up into the sky I am light and lithe, unhurried, unworried, and we are off. You are so lucky! A prissy prim violet calls to me as I pass. I do not understand floral, so I stick out my chin a bit. Wind whispers against the leaves as we head through forest of oak. I am on the road again, my heart singing, wishing for another eagle.

Beautiful ride! Yes, to be free of earth's tether, even for a short time, if a wingless feather. Perhaps a dear poet will find me, dip me in ink, and once again write me into the sky. Not really so much about the feather or wind...but the soul wanting to fly. Lovely write, Karen. Magic.
