Dreams In Shadow of Memory

Immersed in the madness flood of crowd, a verdant valley I find carved out in the lonesome landscape within me, displaced from the psychosis stratum of disorienting dissonance, attached to the insecure mind. Away from the chaos-charged precinct, I walk on the colored contours of life, tinged by the sunburst of dawning hope. On the calm canopy of the mind-thicket, the sense-leaves sparkle with spectrum of delight, as I sink in the aura of silence. The beguiling breeze ripples on euphoric sunbeam, to its cadence the enchanted boughs dance, make mystique motif of light and shade, weave the tapestry of contentment for my dreams to be embellished, and to suffuse me with kaleidoscopic joy. Trudging in the amber wilderness, as the lone life travels the weary path, from the cool cauldron of tranquility copse I absorb the emerald grandeur of serenity sheen, in the niche of my mind I strive to stow, create in my pallid heart a jade meadow. I walk the final mile of the ordained journey, and in the remaining hours of twilight glow, resting awhile, I seek the essence for the last time of the receding woods of remembrance, where I see my dreams return, draped by the lengthening shadow of memory. _____________ April 12, 2023 Contest : Open Poetry 6 Sponsored by : Charlotte Puddifoot

I liked that you have used the extended metaphor 'nature' to weave a rich tapestry that concludes where your 'dreams return, draped by the lengthening shadows of memory'. Congratulations on your placement.
