Desperate Hope
For the contest "This or That" set by Edward Ibeh
These charming chimes of chaste memoirs
of "us" tinkle,
making me recall the moment
your river of periwinkle passion permeated
through arterial arrays of my outcast heart.
It had been stuck in slumbering cobwebs
of dreamless decades of desperate hope,
and now I am awakened anew as azure sky,
at dazzles dawning through healing touch
of your winter sun soul.
How effortlessly you tamed the demons
of my maddening madness with your silver lining love.
Your coffee colored eyes poured me,
the deep intense affection just rightly as I craved,
while these intoxicated heartbeats
hum your name in intricate nightingale refrains.
Do you know how my wisping veins
are orbiting now in paths unknown
carved upon lines of your warm hands,
and my artless lips yearn to memorize
their soft lavender touch.
I wish to ask you -
what took you so long my bemused beloved?
I have been waiting for you
to cease the thunders and come up my way.
Since you came my world has changed its axis,
I can just live by the lustrous light
your pearlescent presence has reflected in me,
inhaling and exhaling to see you breathe life
more and more each day within me.
