Deja New
déjà new
I never been here before
what's more, what's new hadn't too
it's like I can't remember now tomorrow
I can't pinch, filch or borrow
'fore knowledge of what's now's tomorrow
seems what's happenin' is
ridin' on dead reckoning
destined past unknown I think
at sheer cliff of present's brink
there's comfort in surprise I surmise
being patient, being sanguine, being wise
the past is packed with many ties
for now the need, to improvise
tomorrow is today's grand prize
what can be said about what is unknown?
probability tends to be speculative prone
a future snap of hard wishing bone
here and now is but a stepping stone
now make your wish for want to come
an' leave space for it to light upon
it's uncertain what may come to pass
today's half may emerge to brimming glass
