Creatures Come and Sit
Creatures come and sit
birds, insects flap their wings and squat
lizards and snakes lie down coiled
but the rough and tough idol endures
all those that beat their chests
in the name of joy, passion, happiness
Adam with Eve come craving
dinosaurs and reptiles, amphibians
stretch on their bent backs of desire
their dry bones emitting carbons of past life
But resilient and enduring through ages
this mysterious creature
persecutes no one
does not ask for compensation
no eyebrow raised for a sweet share
jealousy, envy not in her heart
But going on with her daily duty
to serve those who know not
that in their hearts its coil coils
in everlasting faith
as caterpillar of the tropics
