Comforting Demons
I refuse to fight my demons,
They are the ones who hold me.
I welcome them into my life,
They care for me, can't you see?
When you and the world forgot me,
Leaving me to struggle all alone,
They were the ones there for me,
To hold and comfort me to the bone.
Now you say I'm lost and confused,
And that I'm just in a bad place.
But when I was desperate for help,
It was them that were my saving grace.
You say you want what's best for me,
But for once let's be completely fair.
How can I fight these demons
When they are the ones who care?
How can I push them away now?
They loved me when I was down.
I wanted it to be you instead,
But you were nowhere around.
