Christmas Is My Game
He heard a noise and he stopped breathing.
Werewolf? Shadow monster?
His chest was heaving.
How far had he walked?
Shouldn’t he be at a town by now?
Hey! A tiny voice said. Up here!
It was a reindeer, in a tree.
Dasher? He asked hopefully.
The reindeer laughed.
What was that song you were singing?
Were you echoing me?
The reindeer laughed again. Yes.
They began to sing loud and proud now.
I am an elf man, and Christmas is my game.
Whilly-gee-wonkmeyers is my family’s fame.
I am looking for Santa, that is my aim.
North Pole bound, you can call me Lame.
Reindeer added another lyric and they sang together
For about twenty minutes, and had a blast!
Hey! Dasher said, coming to get him,
We have finally found you at last!
The reindeer singer disappeared in a puff.
Putting Dasher into a bit of a huff.
Was that a reindeer? He asked his friend.
Yes, and a singer, great up to the end.
