Children come and children go. And in between we watch them grow. Through the good times and the bad. Through happy moments as well as the sad. We heal their hurts of body and soul. To keep their secrets only a parent would know. Walk them to school and back again. Help settle a squabble with a close friend. With a first love we try to guide the tone. Even though they have raging hormones. And when its' all over, said and done. We stitch up their hearts and show them the sun. But all to soon they are gone on their own. No more the children in our happy home. Herein, we are left to ourselves, so all alone. With just memories of a parents love known. There is a one happy note that is left to be said. They always come home to visit and sleep in their beds. With families all of their own and little ones to share. So we may remember the love of childhood's care.
