Chasing Seagulls
Some humour for the day. The seagulls treat me like I'm here to feed them, even though I use tiny birdseed to feed the little birdies that visit my garden. The seagulls are relentless and aggressive. I look like a crazy person chasing them out of the garden, so that the little birdies feel safe to come back.

Every day
We play this game
The seagulls come
To torture me again
They love my garden
They love the seeds
But they refuse to accept
They're for the little birdies
And try as I might
They don't get the hint
Chasing seagulls
Seems to be a game for them
I'm not intimidating
I'm not violent
I'm not big
And I'm too kind
Try as I might
I can never harm
One of God's creatures
No matter their form
So, like a crazy person
I chase them out the garden
My neighbours laugh
At my strange behaviour
Chasing seagulls
Each and every day
Repetitive madness
