Cat

A marmalade throw dangles paws in indolent ease. Atop a garden wall, limbs stretch, as stiff as table legs. Eyelids flicker, whiskers, and ears sense the flutter of sparrows, muscles tense in their bed of fur. The drowsy head falls once more, pillows itself on the warm brick, legs loosen, limply dangle, a ginger cat dreams of pouncing.
