Can't Stay Blue
It just doesn't seem fair
To accept life's ugly truth
Even though the pale face of death will come for me, too.
I imagine they'll see an old gray lady with no teeth ,
When middle age, for you, was just 16.
Lying in the grass, I felt the breeze and noticed,
the sun still shines.
I know the darkest days are now behind me.
I use to have a gunshot wound in my heart.
But I kept on moving, Sometimes at a crawl.
I wonder if Our souls already knew
And chose eachother Before your death.
That beautiful thought helped me put your body to rest.
We had the chance in Life to find a Love so True
That feeling, at times, makes it hard to stay Blue.
