Can We Talk?
most relationship could do with a little bit of help
if only the people involved would learn to talk among themselves
we all need to have some form of honest communication
if we want to remove all the doubts and all the implications
we might not always agree nor always see eye to eye
but at least we'll have a better understanding of the reasons why
and if our little talk does not accomplish all that much
at least it will remove the presence of the devil's evil touch
our Lord God has only this one thought on his mind
it's that we desire to talk to Him at any given time
He wants us to turn to Him and communicate from the heart
say a prayer, a word or two and that's just to start
yet people are always on cell phones and sending each other e-mail
but a connection to God only requires knee-mail
and as long as you desire to have a conversation with God
use the Lord's prayer, the words are easy and not hard
66 words, the same number as the books of the Bible
66 words to receive spiritual revival
the words are very simple and not all that long
so use them when you talk to God and you will never go wrong
but don't be a hypocrite praying to show off to your fellow man
pray alone in your closet, believe me God will understand
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name
the kingdom will come, thy will shall be done on earth as it is in heaven
give us this day our daily bread, let your words feed our desires
forgive our debts as we forgive others,
for yesterday's baggage we no longer require
lead us not into temptation, for tomorrow has it's own set of trials
deliver us from evil, away from Satan's wicked wiles
for You are the kingdom with power and glorious endeavor
and as we knell to pray to You, can we talk forever?
