Bronx Cheers

Bronx cheers, muffled in December ‘The Boys of Summer’ have vanished gone the way of the playground ghosts of warmer climes Slants of ice fill the empty stands Cheers – or boos – reserved for vagabonds for drifting wads of paper

Great imagery, Gershon. I love regional poems. This reminds me of my youth riding our bikes in the winter up to the neighborhood pool and tennis courts. Seeing the empty turquoise pool looking so abandoned (outdoor pool). We would long for summer. Excellent penning. Shalom and Am Yisrael Chai. ~

Love the images and atmosphere you created in that empty stadium. The boys of summer will be back, and cheering fans will return, but now they are watching football...
