Blue Blanket

I sleep beyond its warmth I envision upon its touch In this world exists a hell lot of blankets But this, ineffably, I admire very much In shades of light blue My blanket wraps me tight Its color a deep, tender comfort Resembling a departing night Across the wide distances of cold I am shielded amid its warm fluff I begin to sink in skies, as soon as I lay my head upon its cloudy puff In this world exists a hell lot of blankets But this, ineffably, I admire very much I now yearn to sleep all day Within its magical, surreal clutch

There is something so magical and comforting about this poem. It makes me think of my grandson who has his favorite blanket that travels wherever he goes...when he is tired and sleepy, nothing gives him greater comfort than that softness. Nicely done, Farah. ~ Carrie

I have a blanket that I too love very much. It is blanket my grandmother made for me. filled with feathers. Light and warm and fluffy. When I wrap myself in it, I am with her again. I love this very comforting poem. thank you for sharing. Warm wishes to you and your family, dear Farah during this festive season. lainie

Farah - I fear I have offended you with my last poem and if so I want you to know that I would never want to do that - I have nothing but love and respect for you - I loved your poem - I don't know what to say other than the fact I hope this hasn't hurt or friendship because I really do think the world of you, MJ
