Black Lives Matter
Black Lives Matter
They gave me a college education
But left me unemployed
But they say
Black lives matter
I won 7 Grammy awards
I didn't get a ceremony to recognize my work
But they say
Black lives matter
I have Foodstamps
But no refrigerator to store the food in
Or pots and pans to cook on a stove not even utensils or a plate to place my food on
But they say
Black lives matter
I receive a disability check for 2000 dollars a month
But I don't have a place to live
But they say
Black lives matter
I served my country for 8 year in the military
And I am living on the streets
But they say
Black lives matter
I'am a military vet
And I still did not receive health treatment
But they say
Black lives matter
My best friend name is Maria Marshall she got beat down by the cops
But they say
Black lives matter
Bloods and the Crypts are black gangs on my block and everyday they are shooting at each other
But they say
Black lives matter
At the end of night
I go to sleep black
And I wake up black
I shed the same red blood like every
minority group
Black lives are still ignored
Let me paint my face white
Will I still matter now
Nope

P.S. I wrote this poem for another poetry group that I'am with.
I thought I share it with you! I don't usually write poetry about issue around the world. But I had some poetry readers who requested for me to write about issue around the world. Stay tune for my new poem called Deadbeat system! Deadbeat system poem is about the little things that can affect individual and the harm that cut backs do to individuals around the world.
