Between Sky and Sea

I am the Earth, caught between Sky and Sea. How can I be asked to choose one over the other? First is the Sky. He is wild and free, floating on every gust of wind. He can be an ever-wished-for breeze on a hot summer day, Or he can be a storm brewing with thunder and lightning at every turn. But no matter how much he wants to fly, he stays for me. Then there is the Sea. He is always there, anchored all around me. He is a gentle wave, and he is a tsunami. Sometimes he reaches closer, and sometimes he retreats further away, But he stays and holds on nonetheless. Sky and Sea, each their own, both reach out. They fight one another, battling for all of me. But I am the Earth, all my own. I hold all life, all growth, all change. I am not to be fought over, not to be won. I must choose what I want for myself. But how am I to choose between Sky and Sea? Both are lovely and beautiful; Both are daunting and terrible. So forever I shall stay, caught between Sky and Sea.
