Being Selfish Is Not a Blessing That Makes One Proud
Being selfish is not a blessing that makes one proud,
does it really render one happy seeing misery,
keeping all to oneself and turning a blind eye
is ignoring who needs urgent solidarity...
more than food to fill the hungry belly.
Being human means more to Humanity,
and the needs it faces can't be compromised
by living carelessly and carrying this lie inside.
How crucial it is to see the desperation
in others and not offer consolation!
I have stepped down from my selfishness
and lent a hand when I had little for myself,
and that little has become abundance...
changing from a scrooge to a samaritan,
dropping that image of vanity to feel the nobility
of heart and be satisfied with the rendering of common sense,
so pleased to have done another deed of humbleness!
Should I encounter the same fate: there'll be eyes of pity,
and hearts of empathy remembering my kindness.
Accruing fortunes with shrewdness can't get one to Heaven,
it's a wasted effort of the greedy and malicious mind,
cultivate generosity, be greatly delighted by its sound;
being selfish is not a blessing that makes one proud,
give without being seen...getting no cheers from the crowd;
here's an aforethought, " Who gives selflessly will infuriate Satan! "
