Being half

I don't feel you're my other half I feel we're a flick knife Alternating who is the blade There's no sense to removing the hinge A flick knife is useless as separate parts But I can't be melted down Agree to be reformed, with you Melt us down, create two We'll both sit with our own pain Yet have the ability to create I'll whittle wood into almost things Sharpen pencils Carve my name somewhere Eat an apple straight from the blade As I separate from the metal Become an almost person Because almost will be good enough Once I'm no longer getting damaged

I absolutely love and admire this poem. "Melt us down, create two" amazing, "I'll whittle wood into almost things" this single line holds so much meaning and depth, it shook me to the core, "Because almost will be good enough Once I'm no longer getting damaged" deserves an award. this is exactly my kind of poetry. kudos.

It's funny coming back to these poems when the moment has passed, they likely still hold true but I'm in a different moment. I'm glad I captured it though and thank you for your comment

It sounds like a lack of harmony. I like the rationale in this poem.it holds my attention.
