Becoming the Man You Need
You tried to make this boy a man
You tried to keep the lights on in his heart
You held his hand for so many years now
You tried to make this boy see how much of a man he could be
You encouraged him always but his ears fell silent to the love you have
His eyes were blinded by his own struggle
You tried to make this boy love the man he has become
But this boy crutches down in his own dark corner refusing to speak most of the time
So good at hiding this boy runs away from the reality of becoming that man you see with those beautiful eyes
Why can't this boy grow why can't he let his tears flow
All you need is this boy to be a man but he can't seem to grasp the reality he has avoided this far.
