Ballad of Orion
Orion the quick,
Orion the brave,
Orion was nothing
Once upon a day.
Surrounded by warriors
All beard and all bite.
Those surly, strong,
Of imposing sight.
Orion was hungry;
His soul chipped away,
From unending nights
And unfriendly days
Brave hero turned slave
To misfortune, was he bound
But Orion was patient
Though his luck run aground
A clamor rose westward,
Soft breeze on the gale.
There were tales of strange beasts,
And fair maidens as well.
"Indecision may choke," said Orion in sand
"Foul luck may beset," said Orion on wood
"But only I may determine how that cards lay!"
He cried, the salt spray on his hood.
