Back to You
Well, I’ve played every game and I took every chance
Not looking for love, just a bit of romance.
Could never just sit, had to get up and dance…
And I’ve broken some hearts I have to admit.
Forcing that piece of the puzzle to fit.
But, go looking for love, and see what you get…
But I keep coming back to you…
All you say and all you do
Fills my heart with something new.
I keep coming back to you…
Here a love so rare and true
Keeps me coming back to you…
Well, I’d run and I’d hide and try to avoid it.
While family and friends would all “Jung” it or “Freud” it
And I’d sit in fear that I’d really enjoyed it.
And I’d look back and laugh but with no satisfaction.
Just chalk it all up to the rules of attraction.
A mutual choice, or a balanced transaction…
But I keep coming back to you…
All you say and all you do
Fills my heart with something new.
I keep coming back to you…
Here a love so rare and true
Keeps me coming back to you…
Just ponder respect or rejection, neglection.
Or try to reflect on protection, projection.
It is cause and effect or just imperfection?
A subject once taboo leads me right back to you…
Well, I’ve played every hand, took it well past the limit.
No river too wide, I just had to swim it.
Grew out my hair and let no woman trim it…
But the stakes went too high and my wallet too thin.
I’d scream at the lifeguard and the tide rushing in.
Then I found myself back where I’d already been…
But I keep coming back to you…
All you say and all you do
Fills my heart with something new.
I keep coming back to you…
Here a love so rare and true
Keeps me coming back to you…
