Awake Hitting Icebergs

Trembling with madness Within I sense your coming My eyes narrow and glazed Intact Fighting with loud and angry voices Within I hear you coming My eyes wide and straining Harder Shivering with icy tendons of bone Within I see you coming My eyes hard and pressing Farther Pushing with senseless strength Within I feel you coming My eyes open and blindly Shattered Alive And still I die Aroused And still I sleep Alone And still with you Always With you Awake Hitting icebergs [inspired by the line 'awake hitting icebergs' from the song "Hole 356" by Thomas Gardell, my nephew and godson]

Reading this shipped me to the crows nest on the Titanic. According to reports, the lookouts Fredrick Fleet & Reginald Lee struggled against the chill factor on that moonless night. Althought being massive and white, still very hard to see in those circumstances, or were they asleep against the cold? ps, I'm reading your poetry listening to Thomas Gardell, your nephew. His music is kool....James :)

yes. I wrote this poem using a line from a song written by my nephew; the line 'awake hitting icebergs' struck me from many levels. My nephew is Thomas Gardell, an up and coming musician here. I'm glad you felt this one. Thank you also for today. Love, Deb
