Avocado Green
Painted on a plaque above the doorway
Reads Mr. and Mrs. darcy come on in
There’s a red rose in a glass case on a mantle
And a chair right next to him where no one sits
And everything is just the way she left it
Like a perfect 1960’s movies set
And avocado green it was never quite his thing
But now it’s all of her that he has left
Cause he cant let go
He wont let her leave
Like to go
still stuck here in between
And sometimes it gets hard to tell
Which one of them is gone
He’s been dead so long now it seems
He’s still alive in that avocado green
There’s a sign on the door at the end of the hallway
Reads kacey’s room only kids allowed
And daddy keeps it clean
And avocado green
Sits in there and he cries when he’s alone
Cause he cant let go
He wont let her leave
Like to go
still stuck here in-between
and sometimes it gets hard to tell
which one of them is gone
he’s been dead forever
and now it seems
she’s still alive in that avocado green
In the blink of an eye forty years goes by
And they both still haunt these colored walls
Everyone feel pain
But no ones grieves the same
He cant let go
he wont let her leave
like to go
still Stuck here in-between
And sometimes it gets hard to tell
which one of them is gone
He’s been dead forever
and now it seems
She still alive in that avocado green
There both alive in that avocado green
